North Philadelphia Pathfinders Win: A Continuing Legacy

The North Philadelphia Challengers Pathfinder Club won the Pathfinder competition at the 2009 Allegheny East Conference campmeeting.

This is exciting. North Church has had a strong Pathfinder club for years. Todd Childs was to the North Philadelphia Challengers what Pat Riley was to the L.A. Lakers. But Todd stepped away a couple of years ago.

His associate for years was Brother Tony Campbell. Brother Tony Campbell is the Pathfinder leader this year.

I was thinking about how God called Joshua to lead His chosen people (Joshua 1:2). Joshua had been with Moses. Joshua had seen Moses lead the people of God through one challenging situation after another.

God reassured Joshua in verse 5 that as He was with Moses, so He would be with him.

The North Philadelphia has a continuing legacy of excellence, not because of Todd, nor because of Tony, but because of the continual presence of Almighty God. He was with Todd. He is with Tony. And I pray that whoever will succeed Tony in years to come will be as dependent upon the Lord as his or her predecessors. If that is the case, the North Philadelphia Challengers will continue to have a proud legacy of success.
